Utilizing Library resources for Web pages
in online classes and Web pages

Durable Links

Links to individual articles and journals need to be persistent (not all are) in order to be useful to provide to students.

Proxy rewrite information

The links you provide should also contain the proxy information so that students (or faculty) can enter name and barcode to gain access from off-campus.

Checking to see that the URL you create is durable and the proxy information is there

  1. Linking to full-text articles in Academic Search Premier
  2. Linking to full-text articles from most electronic journals
  3. Linking to full-text articles in JStor
  4. Linking to searches from the Library Catalog
  5. Linking to ProQuest databases & e-journals

What do you do if you can’t make a durable link? Ask a librarian (subject specialist)! We’ll find out how to get you the article you need, and we’ll clear copyright permissions for you, if necessary.
