Scope and Content
The Belcher Mine Company's Comstock Lode claim of 1859 was 1040' long, and was between the Overman and Crown Point Mines. First work began in 1860; beginning in 1870 it was worked jointly with the Crown Point Mine and in 1873 with the Yellow Jacket Mine. In 1915 the three combined into the Jacket-Crown Point-Belcher Mines Company which in turn became part of the United Comstock Mining company in 1920. The collection consists of records of operation including weekly reports from the mine superintendent to H.D. Fry; and assay records for the Belcher and Crown Point mines; and the Santiago, Vivian, Mexican, and Eureka mills
